Hey all! I apologize for the more sparse frequency of updates while we wait for the gears of production to turn. I'm working with the same printer as I did for 1st Edition, utilizing the same printing format and book/page size so both 1st and 2nd Editions will work as seamless companions to each other.
This made correspondence towards the completion of the book quite straightforward, but introduced an issue: that nation-wide United States paper shortage I'd mentioned in prior updates. Specifically, the exact type of paper that 1st Edition was printed on is much, much harder to get right now. After waiting for some stock opportunities, the printer has managed to come up with, what sounds like, a very similar and suitable alternative for 2nd Edition to be printed on that will be available much faster than the exact paper type that was used for 1st Edition. Just to be safe, I've only committed at the moment to trying this new, slightly glossier page style for the physical proof, and will then decide whether or not to commit the whole run to it once I've seen it in person.

I just want to emphasize that even with production challenges, shortages, or increased costs of materials, I don't have any interest in cutting corners or shipping something that I don't feel like lives up to what I personally would want to buy, and I'll post images of the proof itself once I've got it in hand and have verified it.

I wanted to get sentimental for the book's introduction, which was written right before Elden Ring's launch. I was well aware folks would have their teeth firmly sunk into the game by the time the book reached them, but some of the statistics I highlighted now seems paltry given the incredible success Elden Ring has seen.
I hope you'll enjoy this window into the camaraderie I have with the Souls community, and I did my best to express that with potency and brevity. I also wanted to share some new material that's extremely specific to 2nd Edition while we wait for the book's production. I'm once again so sorry for the protracted schedule for fulfillment, especially when 1st Edition was delivered just barely beyond the projections I had set out. Rest assured however; I've got all the gears moving and all of the factors necessary to see everything to completion are tended to.

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the incoming rewards; bookmarks, posters, and stickers are all secured, while pins and acrylic standees are in production.
As for the book itself, on top of other factors like the US paper shortage, the proper formatting and editing of 2nd Edition is significantly more challenging than 1st Edition; the inclusion of about 60% more pages compared to the first book ended up equating to a lot more than just 60% more work. That said, after many corrections and edits, 2nd Edition is in the process of its final, final digital proofing pass!
